Ethon

In Greek mythology Ethon is a gigantic eagle, whose parents were the monsters Typhon and Echidna. As punishment for stealing fire from Mount Olympus Zeus chained Prometheus had in the Caucasus, so Ethon gnaws him his liver. The liver was renewed every night to be eaten only by Ethon again.

When Heracles freed Prometheus, he slew Ethon.
