Étienne Bouhot
Étienne Bouhot ( born August 8, 1780 in Bard- lès- Epoisses, † July 17, 1862 in Semur -en- Auxois ) was a French painter. He was director of the Ecole de Dessin de Semur -en- Auxois.
Life
His artistic work began with an apprenticeship as a decorative painter in Dijon. 1801 he moved to Paris. In the years 1808/ 09, he participated in panoramas of Rome, Wagram, Tilsit and Antwerp. Successes he recorded with vistas, especially from Paris. As of 1822 made trips within France. He increasingly devoted himself to landscape painting, but comes as a result of the rare participation in the Paris Salon generally forgotten.
