Etmißl until the end of 2014 an Austrian municipality in the judicial district of Bruck an der Mur and in the political district of Bruck- Miirzzuschlag in Styria with 498 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). As part of the municipality of structural reform in Styria it is merged in 2015 with the communities Thoerl and Sankt Ilgen, the new community will continue the name Thoerl. This is based on the Styrian community structure reform law - StGsrG.

Geography

Etmißl located in a tributary of the Thoerl Brook ( a tributary of the Murz ) in the high Schwab area. The area is part of the Northern Limestone Alps.

The municipality comprises the three villages (in brackets population as of 31 October 2011):

  • Etmißl ( 444)
  • Lonschitz (61)
  • Oisching ( 5)

The municipality comprises the cadastral Etmißl, Lonschitz and Oisching.

Demographics

As the table shows, the population has declined more or less continuously since the beginning of the counts, particularly strong in the Great Depression between the censuses of 1934 and 1939, with a slight recovery during the Second World War and the following decades until 1991, but through which the highest level of 1869 and 1900 was not nearly reached again. Since 1991, the population is declining due to emigration again, which could not be offset by the barely balanced birth rate.

Religion

The vast majority of the population, namely, 91.9 % is Roman Catholic, 1.7% are Protestant. Other religious denominations were not specified in the 2001 census. From 1.3 % of the population 's religious commitment is not known; without commitment of 5.1 %.

Regional Policy

Etmißl is a member in December 2, 2009 Regionext small Hochschwab South, and in the LEADER area Mariazellerland - Muerztal.

At the municipal structural reform 2010-2015 the congregation merged with perhaps Sankt Ilgen, or additionally with Thoerl - this is also in negotiations with Bruck and Kapfenberg, an inclusion in these cities but is rejected by the Etmißler as well as St. Ilgner local politics. In Discussion is also a further merger with Aflenz / Aflenz country and perhaps Turnau ( 6 solution).
