Étoile Noire de Strasbourg is a French ice hockey team from Strasbourg, which was founded in 2000 and in the Ligue Magnus, the highest French Hockey League, plays.

History

Étoile Noire de Strasbourg was founded on 1 January 2000 with the goal of professional hockey to Strasbourg to bring. The establishment of the association took place from the merger with the Club sportif de glace de Strasbourg ( CSGSA ) whose infrastructure Étoile Noire took over.

Just four years after its inception, the club played in the 2004/05 season for the first time in Division 1, the French second Hockey League. With a fourth place in the ascent, however, was missed. Just one year later, however, reached the summit in the Ligue Magnus as a master of Division 1 and thus the leap into the Hockey upper house of France.

In his first season in the Ligue Magnus Strasbourg reached twelfth of 14 clubs just to jump into the Vorplayoffs in which one but retired with 0:2 games against the Ducs d' Angers. In the 2007 /08 season Strasbourg reached again as Third to last just as the jump in the Vorplayoffs, where they lost again 0-2 games. This time Strasbourg failed to Pingouins de Morzine. In the same season Étoile Noire failed only in the semi-finals of the Coupe de France with 3-6 at the Dragons de Rouen.
