Etoumbi

Etoumbi is a city in the province of Cuvette -Ouest in the northwest of the Republic of Congo. Main source of income of the inhabitants is hunting in the local woods. In Etoumbi there was lately four outbreaks of the Ebola virus, which are believed to have been caused by eating dead animals out of the woods by resident villagers. 2003 120 people died from an outbreak. In May 2005, the City has been quarantined.
