Etsushi Ogawa

Etsushi Ogawa (Japanese小川 悦 司, Ogawa Etsushi; born February 23, 1969 in Niigata Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese manga artist.

The short story King of Fresh in 1995 was his first release. This appeared in the manga magazine Magazine Fresh. For its sister magazine Shōnen Magazine he drew from 1995 to 1999 under the titles Chuka Ichiban! (中华 一番! ) And Shin Chuka Ichiban! (真·中华 一番! ) Is a story about a chef in China. This manga was also published in 17 anthologies and as an anime television series. Because of the popularity of this manga Ogawa brought out some illustrated cookbooks.

There were other comics about food. From 2001 to 2004 he created for the magazine Shōnen Magazine and Magazine Special, the Food Hunter Sōraiden (フード ハンター 双雷 伝) Series 2005 and its sequel Bakumetsu Sōraiden (幕末 双 雷 伝). These two comic series together comprise six anthologies.

Since 2006, the designer is working on Tenshi no Furaipan (天使 の フライパン, translated: The frying pan of the angel ) for the Comic Bom Bom magazine, which at a slightly younger target group oriented than the magazines for which he formerly worked. The manga, which, like Chuka Ichiban! youthful cooks than the main characters, won the 2007 Kodansha Manga Award in the category " children" ( Kodomo ).

Ogawa's works are all attributable to Shōnen- genus, because they were originally created especially for boys in elementary and middle school age.
