Eucherius of Orléans (* about 694 in Orléans, France, † February 20 738 in Sint- Truiden ) was Bishop of Orléans.

Life

Eucherius joined as a young man in the Benedictine Order one, studied theology and was ordained a priest. He made ​​the decision to devote himself in seclusion prayer and work, but spread the reputation of the high level of education and human maturity of Eucherius outside the monastery walls. The result was that they offered him the post of Bishop of Orléans. 719 he took over the leadership of the diocese of Orléans with twenty-five years. His piety called many envious people on the plan that slandered him by Charles Martel. This Eucherius informed that he would transfer the church property in the possession of the state. The bishop, however, resisted and was first to Cologne, and later exiled to Sint- Truiden, where he died on 20 February 738 in the odor of sanctity.
