Eugen Adam

Eugene Adam ( born January 22, 1817 in Munich, † June 6, 1880 ) was a German historical, genre and battle painter.

Life

Eugene Adam, the third son of the painter Albrecht Adam treated as a painter of battle scenes especially warlike episodes and genre scenes, to which he had collected the studies during the Italian campaign in 1848 and 1849. He stayed until 1856 in Italy and then in Munich painted images from the war, folk and hunting life, last of the Franco-German war.

With his brother Franz, he gave up stone drawn out reminder sheets to the Italian campaign, which by his brother Julius (1821-1874), who was a lithographer, were printed.
