Eugen Alexander Franz, 1st Prince of Thurn and Taxis

Eugen Alexander von Thurn und Taxis (* baptized January 11, 1652 in Brussels, † February 21, 1714 in Frankfurt am Main ) was the first Prince of Thurn and Taxis.

Life

Eugen Alexander was the second son of the Postmaster-General Lamoraal Claudius Franz von Thurn and Taxis and his wife Anna Franziska Countess Eugenia of Horn. After the death of his father, he joined in September 1676 as a successor to Generalerbpostmeister the Imperial Imperial post, and as Postmaster General of the Spanish Netherlands. 1681 appointed him the last Spanish Habsburg - King Charles II to the Spanish princes and evaluated the acquired Lamoraal of Claudius Francis County Braine- le -Château in the Principality under the name Principauté de la Tour et Tassis.
