Eugen Brodhun

Eugen Heinrich Eduard Ernst Brodhun (* October 15, 1860 in Berlin, † September 19, 1938 ) was a German physicist.

Life

From 1880 to 1885 he studied at the Humboldt -Universität zu Berlin and others Hermann von Helmholtz and the University of Heidelberg. After being in Berlin in 1887 Dr. phil. had graduated, he was first assistant at the local Institute of Physics and the Physical- Technical Institute in Charlottenburg (now part of TU Berlin). From 1888 he was a research assistant and 1923 Division Director. In 1926 he went into retirement.

His main area of ​​work was the optics, he developed together with Otto Lummer (1860-1925) the so-called Lummer- Brodhun dice for photometric comparison of two light sources.

Brodhun was a member of the German Physical Society.
