Eugen Burg

Eugen Burg ( born January 6, 1871 Eugen Hirsch castle in Berlin, † April 17, 1944 in the Theresienstadt concentration camp ) was a German actor.

Life

Eugen Burg was already 43 years old and a well-known stage actor, as for the first time he stood in 1914 at the Berlin PAGU front of the camera. In 90 other silent films, in which he occasionally also directed 1916-1920, followed by the gripper, 1930, the first sound film. In addition to his student and protégé Hans Albers castle came here in the role of a chief inspector at Scotland Yard.

After 1933 the National Socialists came to power, castle lost because of his Jewishness his involvement in Ufa and was occupied by the Reich Student Council film with professional ban, which his acting career ended abruptly. Castle was deported on January 28, 1943 from Berlin to Theresienstadt concentration camp, where he died at the age of 73 years under unexplained circumstances.

Eugen Burg was the father of the actress Hansi Burg, who was the partner of Hans Albers since 1925.
