Eugen Ekman

Eugen Georg Oskar Ekman ( born October 27, 1937 in Vaasa ) is a former Finnish Turner. In 1960, he became Olympic champion on pommel horse.

He won the European Championship in 1959 at the pommel horse silver behind Yuri Titov from the Soviet Union. At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960, he was with the team in sixth in the twelve fight he was number 30, but he reached in his best unit the singles final and won gold along with Boris Schachlin from the Soviet Union, Titov was in Rome only fifth. Four years later in Tokyo 1964, he was ranked 8th in the team competition and 34th in the twelve- fight. After his career Ekman worked as an economist.
