Eugen Neagoe

Eugen Neagoe ( born August 22, 1967 in Cornu, Dolj county ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. He played a total of 247 games in the Romanian Divizia A, the Hungarian Nemzeti National Championship, the Cypriot First Division and he Greek Super League. Since June 2011 he has been assistant coach Victor Piţurcă with the Romanian national team.

Career as a player

The career of Eugene Neagoe began in 1986 at FC Universitatea Craiova, where he on May 10, his first appearance in Divizia A, the highest Romanian league, came. Since he first hardly used, he was loaned in the second half of the 1987/88 season at local rivals Electro Craiova, which played into the Divizia B. After his return he came to Uni Craiova frequently used, but without being able to establish themselves permanently as a regular player. In 1991, he won the league and cup double in his first two titles. With the Cup victory in 1993, some time later followed the next success.

After Neagoe had already been borrowed twice - in the first round in 1992/93 to Farul Constanta and in the first round in 1993/94 to Vasas Budapest - he left in 1994 and moved to Craiova Ferencvaros Budapest in the Hungarian Nemzeti National Championship. There he again won the double in league and cup. After this success, he moved to Cyprus for Alki Larnaca climber. After relegation, he joined the league rivals Omonia Nicosia, but could not intervene in the fight for the championship with the Cypriot top club.

In 1997 Neagoe Cyprus left again and joined the newly promoted Veria FC in the Greek Alpha Ethniki. Even after half a year he returned to Romania, where he Dinamo Bucharest joined. Career as a coach

In the summer of 2004, he was assistant coach of Universitatea Craiova, where he finally stepped in late May 2005 to early June 2005 for the last two days of the 2004/05 season as head coach, the first decline in the club's history but could not prevent.

On June 10, 2006 Neagoe took the first division Pandurii Târgu Jiu, he led the league in season 2006/ 07. On December 9, 2007, he parted from Pandurii, but returned in March 2008 to take over the office of Joaquim Teixeira. After a poor start to the 2008/ 09 season he was released in September 2008 and replaced by Sorin Cârţu. In January 2009, he signed a contract with the second division FC Drobeta Turnu Severin .. After another short engagement in Cyprus, he returned in September 2009 as the successor of Daniel back to Universitatea Craiova Mogoşanu. After the first round he was replaced lying on the 14th place in the table by Mark Wotte.

In the summer of 2010 was Neagoe assistant coach Victor Piţurcă at Steaua Bucharest, but was dismissed along with this in August 2010.
