Eugene Dennis

Eugene Dennis ( born August 10, 1905 in Seattle as Francis Xavier Waldron, † January 31, 1961 in New York City ) was an American politician of the Communist Party USA, its general secretary, he also from 1945 to 1959 and its Chairman of he 1959 until his death in 1961.

Life

Childhood and youth

Dennis was adopted, so he also had his birth name Francis Xavier Waldron leave and his new, Eugene Dennis suppose. Early in his life, was a member of the CPUSA and the Industrial Workers of the World, for her, he also hosted the first strike in California.

Party career

After the disempowerment Earl Browder became General Secretary of his party Dennis, Gus Hall to the post took off him in a fight candidacy, but Dennis was indeed Chairman, this item is however to be considered in CPs as unimportant. This process was considered scandalous because usually these positions are passed in an official KP.
