Eugene J. Martin

Eugene James Martin ( born July 24, 1938 in Washington, DC; † January 1, 2005 in Lafayette, Louisiana, United States) was an African-American artist of the constructed "pure " and lyrical abstract painting collage and hand drawing. Part of his graphic work consists of glyphs unpublished importance he realized with ink on napkins and later omnibus in his collages.

His substantial oeuvre of paintings and drawings is placed in many private art collections in the world and in art museums.
