Eugene Oberst

Eugene Oberst ( born July 23, 1901 in Owensboro, † 30 May 1991, Cleveland) was an American athlete who was active as a javelin thrower in the early 1920s.

The VII Summer Olympics in Paris in 1924, he won the bronze medal with 58.35 meters behind the Finns Jonni Myyrä ( gold with 62.96 meters) and Sweden Gunnar Lindström ( silver with 60.62 m).

In addition, Colonel Eugene is as Notre Dame NCAA Champion of the Year 1921 ( length: 191-2 ) specified. Other benefits of it are not assigned. In the lists of participants at the U.S. Championships that year his name does not appear.
