Eugenio Morel

Eugenio Félix Morel Bogado ( born February 2, 1950 in Asunción, Paraguay ) is a former Paraguayan football player. At club level he played among others in Argentina with Racing Club and San Lorenzo de Almagro, and in Paraguay in Club Libertad Club Cerro Porteño. The player used mostly on the left wing career highlight was winning with the national team in the Copa América 1979.

As Eugenio Morel was seven years old his parents moved with him from the Paraguayan capital Asunción, the capital of the wealthier neighboring country Argentina, Buenos Aires.

His first contact with the great football he made in 1969 when he joined the top Racing Club in the industrial suburb Avellaneda joined. In 1970, he debuted in the first team of the club. In the following years he played from 1972 to CA Talleres ( Remedios de Escalada ), from 1974 to 1979 at Club Libertad in his hometown of Asunción. From 1980 to 1981 he played again in Buenos Aires at the Argentinos Juniors where he was runner-up in his first year. In 1982, he played for San Lorenzo de Almagro in 1983 again in Asunción at Club Cerro Porteño and 1984 in Bolivia with the club Oriente Petrolero.

Overall, Eugenio Morel played up to his 46th year of life professional football. In addition to numerous engagements with less prominent clubs in the back country of Paraguay, he also played in 1987 at the peak Chilean club O'Higgins CD.

The highlight of the career Eugenio Morel presented the income of the Copa América in 1979 with the national team of Paraguay dar. In this only the second and so far last title win in Paraguay in this competition he scored four goals and was thus together with the Chilean Jorge Peredo scorer.
