Euless is a city in Tarrant County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located at the junction of the Texas State Routes 10 and 183, just west of the Dallas - Fort Worth airport in the north-east of the county, north of a tributary of the Trinity River and has a total area of 42.1 km ² without significant water surface.

History

The city was founded in 1867 by Elisha Adam Euless, a farmer and businessman from Tennessee, who settled here and among other things, built a mill and after the town was named.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 46.005 people in 19,218 households and 11,626 families. The population density was 1,091.7 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 75.52 % White, 6.49 % African American, 0.64 % Native American, 7.15 % Asian, 1.86% Pacific Islander residents from the and 5.38 % from other ethnic groups. Approximately 2.96% were of mixed descent, and 13.31 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 19,218 households, 31.6 % had children under the age of 18 living with them. 45.3 % were married couples living together. 10.9% were single mothers and 39.5 % were non-families. 31.0 % of all households were single-person households and 3.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size amounted to 3.05.

25.0 % of the population were under 18 years old, 9.8 % from 18 to 24, 39.7% 25-44, 19.7% from 45 to 64, and 5.8 % who were 65 years or older. The average age was 32 years. For every 100 females of all ages were 98.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, 98.0 males.

The median income for a household was $ 49,582, and the median income for a family $ 54,697. Males have a median income of $ 39,169 versus $ 32,370 for females. The per capita income was $ 23,764. 7.0 % of the population and 5.7 % of families are below the poverty line. Of which 9.5 % have children under the age of 18 and 5.7 % of those 65 or older.
