Eulimene

Eulimene (Greek Εὐλιμένη ) is a female figure of Greek mythology.

Eulimene was the daughter of the king of Crete Kydon and had a secret lover named Lykastos, although they had been promised the then famous Cretan Apteros by her father. As several cities of the island against Kydon collected and could not be defeated, the ruler consulted the oracle how he could best handle the situation. On the answer is that the country's heroes a virgin must be sacrificed, he let this determine by lot which fell to Eulimene. Lykastos wanted to prevent their sacrifice by the confession of his love affair with her, but was now really decided her death.
