Life and work

During the reign of the Emir Abd ar - Rahman II ( 822-852 ) of Cordoba there were Christians, wanted neither assimilate ( Mozarabs ) still convert to Islam ( Muwalladun ). They put this in the Muslim public language, which was the banned under the dhimma status parties.

In the year 850, this group gathered around the priest Eulogius. The goal of this group was to the Prophet Mohammed and Islam to vilify public, and to move the Muwalladun to return to the bosom of the Church. They were aware that they so provoked their martyrdom and were just so put a sign for Christians of Muslim Spain. In the series were actually executed some of them.

858 Eulogius was elected Archbishop of Toledo, the Moorish Emir Muhammad I, but refused to confirm the choice. Because of the inclusion of a Muslim girl converted to Christianity - the Christian mission of Muslims was forbidden in Muslim Spain - Eulogius was eventually executed. After his martyrdom, the movement disbanded.
