EUMETNET ( acronym from engl. European Meteorological Network) is a interests and a federation of 26 national weather warning services in Europe, was founded on the 4th European Conference on Applications of Meteorology ( ECAM ) in Norrköping as the European Meteorological Society (EMS ) in 1999 and had five founding members: France, Austria, Switzerland, England, Italy, Holland and Germany (which the statute prepared) and 21 members from 20 European countries. This association was later renamed.

Tasks

EUMETNET provides a framework for cooperative programs between the members in the various fields of basic meteorological research activities: monitoring, data processing, basic forecasting, climate research and forecasting development, to organize training.

By association's programs, the members want to develop and expand their collective capacity, environmental management and climate strategy, which is used for monitoring to provide all European users the best available quality of meteorological information.
