Euphoria is the title of the seventh studio album, published in 1999, the British hard rock band Def Leppard.

Background

After Def Leppard had turned with the album sounds more contemporary slang in 1996, the group for Euphoria remembered back to the success of albums like Pyromania, Hysteria and Adrenalize. While Mutt Lange returned as producer not back to the mixer, but was called in for the songwriting of three titles ( It's Only Love, All Night and Promises ) and the background vocals. The production was again Pete Woodroofe, the recordings took place in Dublin in the studio of singer Joe Elliott.

Euphoria was released on 14 May 1996, the first single released was Promises.

Reception

Thomas copper ( Rock Hard ) wrote about this album, the very title of the album makes clear that the band on " their successful past prudent " have. "So aggressive" have Def Leppard " no longer sounded in years." What fascinates to "Euphoria", were " the numbers that are not quite in the previous success formula " would fit. Copper is called " the Prince with influences spiked ' ' All Night ', the " dramatic and enacting a brilliant hook " ' Paper Sun ' and' the jaunty instrumental" ' Disintegrate ', the ' basic riff from a much higher on ' Switch 625 ' of the "High & Dry" slice " remember. With " a little imagination " leave themselves " half a dozen potential hit singles " account. The album wipe " the majority of the year for the year appearing Melodic Rock Releases loose from the table ".

The album reached number 11 in the respective album charts in Germany # 14 in the singles chart in the United States and Great Britain. The coupled- singles were far less successful: only the two internationally published titles, namely Promises and Goodbye, could ever recorded chart success, albeit exclusively in the USA. The other titles published Paper Sun, Day After Day and 21st Century Sha La La La Girl appeared only in the U.S. and could not reach the Billboard Hot 100.
