Eurobarometer

The euro is a barometer of the European Commission given at regular intervals in order public opinion poll in the EU countries. Both getting the same standard questions as well as changing questions are asked on various topics. The first survey with standard questions was published in 1973. Since 1978, this representative survey conducted by the EU Commission of observation and formation of the opinion of the European population is under development.

Method

For each semi- annual survey about 1000 EU citizens are interviewed at the age of 15 years per Member State in Germany in 2000 and 1500 (separately for old and new federal states ), Luxembourg 600 and the United Kingdom in 1300, including 300 in Northern Ireland. Since autumn 2004 in Germany leads the TNS Social Research, the Euro -barometer surveys by default every spring and fall through. On current events, special surveys can be carried out.
