EuroBasket 1939

The 3rd European Basketball Championship of Men ( officially: Euro Basket 1939) took place from May 21 to 28 1939 in Kaunas instead. European champion hosts and defending champions Lithuania, so that was crowned the first to twofold EM champion. Silver went to the title holder from 1935 from Latvia who won the team bronze medal in Poland.

Final round

The European Championship was held in a single group with a total of eight teams, European champion was the first place winner of the final score. The winner of the match was awarded two points, the loser one point. Stand a game at the end of regulation time draw, it went into overtime. In case of equality, the direct comparison decided against each other.
