EuroBasket 1971

The 17th European Basketball Championship of Men ( officially: Euro Basket 1971) took place from 10 to 19 September 1971 in the Federal Republic of Germany. As in the previous seven sweeps the Soviet selection also secured the gold medal this time and was able to expand their collection of titles in the past 11 overall victories on. In the finale of the 1969 edition of the team of Yugoslavia, only the second rank was also at this time. With bronze winners Italy was the first time since the third place in France in 1959, again a nichtosteuropäisches team on the podium. The host West Germany occupied EM ninth place.
