EuroBasket 1973

The 18th European Basketball Championship of Men ( officially: Euro Basket 1973) took place from 27 September to 6 October 1973 in Spain instead. For the first time since 1955 was the European champion not the USSR, which ultimately had to settle for bronze medal. In the end, was the vice- champion of Europe in the last two European Championship tournaments, Yugoslavia, secure in its fifth finals for the first time the title, Silver went to the host from Spain.

Preliminary round
