EuroBasket 1983

The 23 European Basketball Championship of Men ( officially: Euro Basket 1983) found from May 26 to June 4, 1983 in France. Not from Eastern Europe, as the Italian selection succeeded in their fourth final total participation of the gold coup - the first time in its history was the European champion - apart from Egypt in 1949. Silver went to Spain, the defending champion from the Soviet Union won the bronze medal.

The preliminary matches of group A were held in Limoges. The matches of Group B were held in Caen. The games of the final round were contested in Nantes.

Preliminary round
