Euro Millions is a multi-state lottery, which can be played in some European countries since the 13th February 2004. Countries participating in the European lottery so far, are Spain, France, UK, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland.

It is a European co-operation of the various national lotteries that operate jointly EUR million. The result is that a larger number can be reached at people ( the population of all participating countries includes approximately 218 million inhabitants) and it is possible to offer higher jackpots.

In the euro millions lottery are 5 selected from the numbers 1 to 50 and 2 out of 11 star numbers. The game formula is accordingly "5 out of 50 plus 2 out of 11 ". The probability of winning depends among other things on this game formula and not on the number of players. A jackpot of multi-state lottery is usually higher than one of the state lotteries such as 6 out of 49 since February 17, 2012 income limits are fixed. The upper limit is now at 190 million euros. The limitation works in such a way that in the first round, in which the upper income limit is reached, any amount beyond that is fed to the next lower prize category. If payment is not won in the first place, so this sum for the next drawing remains. Used in the following round in which the winnings again the same as in the drawing above, no winner is determined in the first rank, then there is a so-called " roll-down ". This means that the gain of the first order is distributed to the next rank. The principle of " rolling Downs " will take place from February 21, 2012. After rolling down the subsequent profits of the first rank once again start at 15 million euros.

The draw of the Euro millions lottery numbers is the same for all participating countries and takes place every week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 21:30 clock in Paris. A completed Tip field, ie 5 numbers and 2 star numbers, costs an amount of 2.00 euros, composed in Austria from the wager in the amount of 1.49 Euro and an administration fee of 0.51 €. Half of the amount of 2.00 euros will be distributed to the winners in the various income classes again. EUR million can not be played in Germany, because the German state lotteries have not joined the network of Euro millions. Online game deals in Germany are organized only by private companies that have covered the risk of paying out huge profits either by insurance or not.

Income classes

In the euro millions lottery there are 13 different income classes to which the prize money will be distributed. For a profit in the lowest income class 2 correct numbers are needed. For the jackpot 5 right and 2 correct star numbers are required.
