Europe Transparent

Europe Transparant was a political party in the Netherlands. It was founded on April 8, 2004 by Paul van Buitenen and reached at the European elections in the same year at first two seats in the European Parliament after an election campaign, which cost only € 4,000. Van Buitenen and the number 2 of the list, Els de Groen, who was known as Aufdeckerin of corruption scandals in Eastern Europe, the Group joined the Greens / European Free Alliance in as independent members.

The party claimed of himself to be apolitical. She saw herself as a campaigner for a transparent government at European level, against corruption and favoritism of friends. In 2005, Paul van Buitenen together with Hans -Peter Martin and Ashley Mote founded the platform for transparency (PFT ). The British MEP Ashley Mote, however, was serving in 2007 because of social fraud, one more month prison sentence in the UK.

On 31 December 2007 merged Europa Transparant with the party Nederland Transparant, pursued at the national level the same goals. In the European Parliament was disagreement between Van Buitenen, the only wanted the party activity confined to the fight against corruption, and De Groen, who wanted also other issues such as the rights of the Sinti and Roma in Bulgaria treat.

At the 2009 European elections Europe did not occur to Transparent.
