European Bike Week

European Bike Week is an event on Faak, in Carinthia, Austria. In this case, the beginning of September up to 40,000 Harley- Davidson riders and 50,000 fans of two-wheeled vehicles of all brands meet annually. 2012, the previous record of 120,000 participants was reached.

Background

A first motorcycle meeting on Faak took place in 1998 and was at that time an anniversary event of Harley Davidson. The meeting was organized by Daniela Gabriel, which belonged to the European management of Harley Davidson. The first meeting was held with 15,000 participants. When the event was continued in the next year, she was named the European Bike Week. In the next few years it grew from a small event to become biggest event of the rocker and biker scene in Europe and the third largest event in the world. The event has since been increased to ten days.

Around the Faak all kinds of events organized in " Villages ", as well as in private will be offered. To this end, since 2002 a part of Ride -in Bike Show by Custom Chrome Europe with stunt show. Concerts also take place in the week. 2012 included performances by Monroe, the Kiss tribute band Kiss Forever, the Rammstein cover band steel time and 10cc on.

The central point is the Harley- Village, where the campground and the official Harley -Davidson dealer located. The Outlaw scene has a firm place on the event.

The annual highlight is the parade, in which up to 25,000 motorcyclists make a joint trip with now very large media presence around the Faak. In 2012, it came increasingly to theft, so motorcycles were stolen in the value of half a million euros.
