European chemical Substances Information System

The European chemical Substances Information System ( ESIS ) until the fall of 2012 was the chemical information system of the European Chemicals Bureau ( engl. European Chemicals Bureau, ECB).

The following directories and lists are included:

  • European Inventory of Existing Commercial Chemical Substances ( EINECS), the Existing Chemical Substances
  • European List of Notified Chemical Substances ( ELINCS), the Neustoffverzeichnis
  • No- longer-polymers - list (NLP - list)
  • Biocidal active substances included in the Biocidal Products Directive (English Biocidal Products Directive, BPD) 98/8/EC, appendices I and IA included
  • Substances that are considered to be persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic ( PBT ) or very persistent and very bioaccumulative (vPvB ) are classified
  • The hazard identification (English Classification and Labeling, C & L) of substances and preparations according to CLP (formerly Directive 67/548/EEC or 1999/45/EC ) ( in this database are not deep-link longer possible for ESIS refers to ECHA )
  • Hazardous substances that are regulated in the export and import of Regulation 304/2003/EG, Annex I
  • Substances produced in large (English High Production Volume Chemicals, HPVCs ) and small amounts (Low Production Volume Chemicals, LPVCs ), including a list of manufacturers and importers within the EU
  • International Uniform Chemical Information Database ( IUCLID)
  • Priority lists, information on the status of risk assessments
