European Climate Exchange
The European Climate Exchange ( ECX) is the world's largest futures exchange for trading in CO2 certificates.
The company and its affiliate the Chicago Climate Exchange, is owned by the Climate Exchange Plc, a holding company that is listed on the AIM of the London Stock Exchange ( LSE). The company is headed by Patrick Birley.
The led by Al Gore and David Blood Investementfond GIM owns 2.98 % stake in the Chicago Climate Exchange, the U.S. futures exchange for trading emission rights, which in turn half of the European Climate Exchange.
