European Commissioner for Trade
The Trade Commissioner is a member of the European Commission responsible for external trade policy. Since the Commission on these issues has very broad powers, it is considered one of the more important ministries. Thus, the trade commissioner, the entire European Union is about in the negotiations in the World Trade Organization. Incumbent in the Barroso II Commission is in February 2010 Karel De Gucht.
