European Competition Network

The network of European competition authorities ( European Competition Network, in short ECN ) denotes a forum, which all belong to antitrust authorities of the Member States of the European Union and the Antitrust Division of the European Commission. The purpose of the ECN is to be able to effectively take action against cartels.

The ECN is to be distinguished from the merger of the European Competition Authorities ( ECA).

The ECN is not an authority or institution of the European Union, but merely serves to allocate the appropriate antitrust authorities antitrust cases and exchange information.

Problems arise within the ECN, especially in terms of bonus schemes, as these are not uniformly regulated in all Member States.
