European Documentation Centre

The European Documentation Centres ( EDCs ) are part of the Europe Direct information network of the European Commission. They shall ensure that the documents and publications of the EU for research and teaching, but also to the interested public are accessible.

History and Organization

The European Documentation Centres (EDC ) was established in 1963 by the European Commission and the Europe Direct information network belong to. Currently working in the Member States of the European Union, approximately 550 European Documentation Centres, including 50 in Germany. They are predominantly affiliated universities, university libraries and scientific institutions.

Tasks
