European Environmental Bureau

The European Environmental Bureau ( EEB: European Environmental Bureau) is a non-governmental organization that was founded in 1974 in Brussels. It is a federation of over 140 environmental organizations from throughout Europe. It is committed to the goal of protecting the environment in Europe and improve. It gives citizens with an opportunity to participate in environmental decision-making at EU level.

Activities

The EEB is a " bridgehead", which allows the member organizations to participate in environmental decision-making in Brussels. The EEB operates an information service, organized several working groups, developed position papers on environmental policy topics, and topics that should be given more attention at the EU level. It has member associations in the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. The EEB supports and also oversees activities of member associations to European environmental issues at the national levels.

The activities of the EEB are divided into various subject areas.

The EEB is part of the Green 10, a coalition of environmental organizations, which are active at EU level.
