European Federation of Energy Traders

The European Federation of Energy Traders ( EFET ), the Association of European energy traders, was founded with headquarters in Amsterdam in 1999. The sublattice EFET Germany - German Association of Gas and electricity traders eV based in Berlin-Mitte was founded in 2001, as at the former Verbändevereinbarung foreign-based organizations had no right to participate. EFET is the umbrella organization for the standardization of cross-border trade of energy suppliers, especially in the gas and electricity trading. For this purpose, uniform framework contracts will be drawn up on the basis of formats of electronic invoicing were built ( with ebXML ) and processes for automatic clearing of trade goods. Objectives are the development of a pan-European internal market for energy and related products and the facilitation of trade through Europe-wide harmonization of market rules. EFET is committed to maintaining the removal of barriers to market access, for uninterrupted non-discriminatory access to the Versorgungssnetzen and against the abuse of dominant positions. EFET has no commercial interests.

EFET Germany - German Association of Gas and electricity traders eV

EFET Germany represents the interests of companies active in the German market energy trading company in relation to politics, associations and the public. The aim of the association's activities is the promotion of national and international energy trade, similar to the European level. In project and working groups for gas and electricity, so-called task forces, the daily work takes place. In position papers are energy trade-related agencies such as the the Federal Network agency informed of any irregularities in the German electricity and gas market.

EFETnet

The EFET federation launched in 2002 an initiative for Europe-wide computerized energy trade, the 2004 founding of the Dutch subsidiary EFETnet BV ( GmbH ) introduced that provides the computer backbone of European energy traders. On EFETnet 80 energy traders from 20 countries are involved that have invested 3 million euros (2009) .. A further 17 companies associated with EFETnet and another 50 Energiehänder implement parts of the EFETnet processes. The estimated sales in EFETnet -based European electricity and gas trading was over 600 billion euros in 2005.
