European Federation of National Engineering Associations

The European Federation of National Engineering Associations - in the abbreviation Feani for " Fédération International d' Associations National d' Engineer" - is a European Engineer Association. The idea was born at a conference in June 1949, having been established in 1951 in Luxembourg.

To Feani include 80 national organizations from 26 countries. It represented about two million engineers. Currently, the VDI director Willi Fuchs is the president of Feani.

The Feani gives to members of national engineering associations, the title of European Engineer ( EUR ING ) as they demonstrate possession of the necessary qualifications and professional experience. Applications should be sent to the national members of Feani, in Germany this is the German Association of Technical and Scientific Associations ( DVT), in Austria, the Austrian Engineers and Architects Association ( OIAV ) and in Switzerland, the professional association " Swiss Engineering ". Willi Fuchs was replaced on 3 October 2008 as President of the Feani by the Danes Lars Olsen Boytoft.
