The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions ( € Found, English European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions) is an agency of the European Union with the aim of improving the living and working conditions in Europe. She was born on 26 May 1975, established by Regulation ( EEC) 1365/75 by the European Council and sits in Dublin.

The Foundation focuses on exploring and collecting information and the publication of their results. The Foundation maintains specialized organizations for the purpose of monitoring the working conditions in Europe. These are

  • The European Industrial Relations Observatory ( EIRO) for industry
  • The European Working Conditions Observatory ( EWCO ) for the monitoring of working conditions
  • The European Monitoring Centre on Change (EMCC ) European Monitoring Centre for Conversion
  • The European Restructuring Monitor (ERM ) to oversee the reconstruction

Task

The tasks of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions are as follows: to the available points of information, advice and expertise for key figures on the European social policy on the basis of comparative information, research and analysis field. The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions was one of the EU first established agencies. The foundation also maintains partnerships with 29 national institutions.

Authorities

The euro Found is headed by a Director, a Deputy Director and an Executive Board. The Board meets twice a year to decide on the budget and one- and four-year plans. After the death of the Director Raymond -Pierre Bodin in 2003, Vice - Director Willy Buschak had risen to the Director. In December 2005, Jorma Karppinnen was appointed as the new director, which was replaced by Juan Menéndez - Valdés in December 2010.

The budget of the Foundation ( € 18.5 million in 2005) comes from the European Commission.
