European Internet Foundation

The European Internet Foundation (EIF ) is an association founded in 1999 under Belgian law for EU parliamentarian who wants to exercise influence on the IT policy in Europe. Chairman of the association is Elly Plooij -van Gorsel.

Issues which were mainly organized and influenced by the EIF, for example, Internet governance and harmonization in the area of the right to intellectual property.

In addition to parliamentarians also lobby organizations and businesses can become members of the association that are loaded to events with representatives of the EU. Even civil rights organizations such as European Digital Rights ( EDRi ) are listed as members.

Membership is free for parliamentarians, business members pay an annual contribution between 2,000 and 10,000 euros.
