European Interuniversity Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation

The European Inter University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation ( EIUC ) is a company incorporated in Venice on 15 September 2002 European institution for the promotion of human rights and democratization. EIUC is supported by 41 European universities and enjoys an E.MA Master program of conferences, seminars and workshops on the topics of the Centre. The Centre is the Monastery of San Nicolo on the Lido in Venice. Current president is Horst Fischer. Honorary President is Mary Robinson, who is also the bearer of EIUC medal.

EIUC theoretical and practical content to the topics: international relations, law, philosophy, history, anthropology, political science and sociology. Among the 41 European partner universities include the University of Hamburg in Germany and the Ruhr- University Bochum.

Since 2004, she gives every year at the International Film Festival of Venice EIUC the Human Rights Film Award.
