European Karate Federation

The European Karate Federation is a European karate federation. The European Karate Federation was founded on 15 December 1963 as the European Karate Union ( EKU ) on the 1st European Karate Congress in Paris. In 1993, he was then renamed the EKF. Coinciding with the renaming of the World Federation WUKO in WKF. EKU was the first international karate federation in the world. The first president was Jacques Delcourt (FRA). His vice president was Otto letter (GER ). The current president is the Spaniard Antonio Espinos. Seat of the EKF is in Madrid. Espinos is also President of the WKF.

The aim of the EKF is the promotion of karate sport. To establish uniform rules Karate throughout Europe and the organization and implementation of the European Championships for young people ( 14-16 years), Juniors ( 16-18 years) and in the performance class (adults).

The EKF performs annually since 1966 by Karate Europe Meiser properties.
