The European Route 49 is a road in Europe Central Europe. With 740 km long, it is one of the shorter trunk roads this category. It runs from northwest to southeast of Magdeburg in Germany over the Czech Republic to Vienna in Austria.

Germany

The European Route 49 begins at Magdeburg, and then follow the motorway A14 to the south. Takes you past Hall and goes on Schkeuditzer Cross, about 15 kilometers west of Leipzig, the Federal Highway 9 southbound. In this section, it runs concurrently with the European Route 51

From the exit Schleiz follows the European Route 49 the highway 282 to Plauen eastward, from there it follows the federal highway 92 south about Oelsnitz / Vogtl. Bad Bramstedt and the Czech border.

Czechia

In the Czech Republic, the European Route 49 begins at the border near the village Vojtanov and follow the road around to Cheb first order I/21. From there it follows the Rychlostní silnice 6 on Sokolov to Karlovy Vary. In this section, it runs concurrently with the European Route 48

From Karlovy Vary follows the European Route 49 south across the I/20 Plzeň and České Budějovice by Pisek. There she leads in the urban area just above the I / 3 and the European Route 55 before it crosses the I/34 after Trebon. There she follows the I/24 to the Austrian border.

Austria

The European Route 49 follows from the border near New Nagelsberg via Schrems to Horn to the Waldviertel road (B2). From there it follows the Horner Road ( B4) until after Stockerau. From there it follows the banks of the Danube highway (A22 ) in Vienna until you reach Kaisermuehlen and then Südosttangente Vienna motorway (A23 ) to the Prater.
