European University Association

The European University Association (EUA ) is the largest association of European universities. The EEA has around 850 members from 47 countries of the European Higher Education Area. It has its headquarters in Brussels.

History

The EEA was established in March 2001 from the Association of European Universities ( German: " Association of European Universities " ) and the Confederation of European Union Rectors ' Conference ( German: "European Rectors' Conference ").

With amendment of its statutes in March 2008, with strong research universities can be absorbed without doctoral degrees in the European University Association.

Tasks

Its main activities are:

  • Influence in the Bologna Process. The EEA is an official member in the Bologna Follow Up Group ( BFUG )
  • Organization of conferences, workshops and seminars.

President of the EEA is currently the former Rector of the University of Aveiro, Helena Nazaré.
