As Euryarchaeota ( from the Greek euryos, diversity ) is a department within the Archaea is called.
Characteristic of the Euryarchaeota is the variety of groups that are adapted as extremophiles on extremely unfavorable habitat. This includes both very heat- loving archaea ( hyperthermophiles ), acid- loving ( acidophilic Thermoplasmates ) and salt-loving groups ( halophiles, which can also operate anaerobic ) and methane -producing ( methanogenic ). Another large group within the Euryarchaeota are the people living in the sea marine Euryarchaeota.
