Eurydactylodes
Eurydactylodes vieillardi ( Adult male )
The genus Eurydactylodes is a genus of the family of geckos ( Gekkonidae ). All species are endemic to the island of New Caledonia.
The animals of the genus Eurydactylodes are nocturnal. A special feature of this genus is a sticky, foul- smelling secretion, which is secreted by paired glands on the tail. The tail serves these geckos as a grasping organ and help for their arboreal ( arboricole ) lifestyle.
