Eusko Abertzale Ekintza

Acción Nacionalista Vasca (Basque Eusko Abertzale Ekintza, EAE - ANV ) is a Basque party. It is Basque- nationalist left and enters for an independent and socialist Basque Country. History

EAE - ANV was founded in the 1930s, as a secular spin-off of the conservative, Catholic Basque Nationalist Party ( Partido Nacionalista Vasco - PNV ).

In the Spanish general elections in February 1936, she joined the Popular Front government, the Frente Popular. In the final phase of the Second Spanish Republic, they presented with Tomás Bilbao even a Minister of the Spanish Government.

With the Spanish Civil War, members of the EAE - ANV joined the Basque army and fought on the side of the Spanish Republic against General Franco. 550 members of the party died in the Spanish Civil War in the fight against Franco's units. During the Franco dictatorship EAE - ANV was then forced into illegality. After the end of Francoism to EAE - ANV was 1977 re-register as a party. Modern History and Prohibition in 2008

EAE - ANV participated for the first time in May 2007 local and regional elections in the Autonomous Region of the Basque Country.
