Eustace I, Count of Boulogne

Eustace I ( Fr. I. à l' oeil Eustache, * 1010, † 1049 ) was a Count of Boulogne, and is the progenitor of the House Boulogne.

The family background of Eustace is unknown. A frequently postulated descent from the Flemish Count House is purely speculative and can be supported by any timely documents. Indeed, Eustace is in the resulting at the end of the 11th century Genealogica comitum Buloniensium, the earliest known genealogy of the Counts of Boulogne, listed first in the line of the house Boulogne. To his own lineage to this source, however, is silent. In the 12th century, resulting in the Chronicle of the Counts of Guines of Lambert of Ardres but a Bolonie comitem ... Erniculum is named as the father of a Eustacio. To what extent these genealogical information on the Count Eustace I. refers can not be resolved.

Count Eustace I was married to Matilda, a daughter of Count Lambert I of Leuven and the Gerberga of Lorraine. Their children were:
