Euzhan Palcy

Euzhan Palcy ( born February 13, 1958 in Martinique, France ) is a French film director and screenwriter.

Life

1975 Euzhan Palcy received her master's degree in French literature at the Sorbonne. She studied art, architecture and film, specializing in camera, at the École Louis Lumière. With the help of the French director François Truffaut in 1983 she could her staged historical drama The Road publish the negro huts. For the produced with less than 1 million dollars film, she received the 1984 Award of the French César Film Awards for the best first work. With A Dry White Season Palcy was allowed as the first black woman a Hollywood film stage. For this film, Marlon Brando received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance at the Academy Awards.
