Eva May

Eva May ( * May 29, 1902 in Vienna as Eva Maria Mandl, † September 10, 1924 in Baden bei Wien ) was an Austrian silent film actress.

Life

The daughter of director Joe May and his wife, the actress Mia May, grew up in Vienna, Hamburg and Berlin, where her parents were employed as a major film artist. Fifteen- year old, she was under the direction of her father for the first time on camera.

From autumn 1918, she appeared in rapid succession in productions of the Ring -Film GmbH, which was directed by her early wedded first husband Manfred Liebenau. Under the name " Erik Lund " Liebenau also led mostly self- directed. The young actress made ​​with these films quickly made a name. In 1920, she joined the company and the directors. The director Lothar Mendes was her second husband, the director Manfred Noa her third.

The highly talented but capricious Eva May fell out several times with their parents. She was the fiancee of Rudolf Sieber, until it met his future wife, Marlene Dietrich. Then Eva May tried to take in 1923 life by opening their wrists.
